I took a little trip to the Snake with Greg Moore last saturday, we started fishing around 07:30. The first spot we hit didn't produce any fish, but Greg had one strike on a Jerk Bait.
We headed down the River to a spot that usually has some fish and Greg scored on a couple small bass with his Jerk Bait. I fished with plastics and scored on seven or eight fish using Maniac Grubs and the new 6" Maniac minnoow that we have been prototyping for a few months. This new Minnow Swim bait is looking very effective on Smallies and Largemouth, the fish inhale the whole bait, wich usually hooks the fish deep.
We had to work for our fish on the river this trip, maybe the full Moon had a negative effect on the fishing during day light.
Some of the Bass were spawning and some were done with the spawn.
We fished for Trout with Maniac Minnows for about an hour, but had to struggle to hold the boat in position to cast in the strong current. I nailed one fat Rainbow that went just over five pounds. We caught about 20 bass a peice with a couple of the biggest going three pounds.
