    Willard bay Utah

I Got a get out of church pass today so I headed out to the bay. I ended up getting a late start ended up on the water around 11:00 am. The lake was pretty bare not many people out. I think the high price of fuel is keeping people home. Enough of that the water temp was hiting a blistering 79 degrees surface. The water clarity wasn't bad and the bugs were thick. I have never seen so many horse flys in my life. I almost beat the crap out of myself trying to kill them. I ended up only catching 3 fish, 2 of them were over the 20 inch mark and one was 18 and I lost one that felt pretty good. I caught all my fish on a silver and black rattle'en rap in the bigger size. I found I had to troll right at 4 miles an hour on the GPS to catch anything. But the only thing of it is I caught all my fish on the outside turn so the lure was actually going faster. I also marked a few shad a couple of good size pods. I'm thinking the boils should start heating up right quick if it hasn't already. I think if I go out next time I'm going to try casting at the shore. The shad like to run the dike when there small and I think that time is now. When they start getting a little bigger they move off into the open water and then look out for all the boil hunters. I didn't take any pics I figured I posted enough wiper pics.
