Hey James. I just wanted to say thanks for getting those minnows in my hands. They were just the ticket once again. I left some in the hands of some local anglers as well. I would like to see Maniac Minnows in every tackle shop in the west one day. What do I owe you for the minnows? Just let me know and I will get the payment into your hands. We had a great time and as before light and water clarity made the difference as to what worked. However due the cloudy water conditions chartreuse worked best most of the time. We caught smallmouth bass, 600 crappie or so and one flat head catfish all on those maniac minnows. I have attached some pictures that you might enjoy. My dad have Lou Gehrigs Disease (ALS) and this was most likely his last trip and your minnows made his trip a success. He was able to catch fish all day when other boats around only caught 4 fish all day. We would boat 150 per day and he had a ball. Thanks again. Drew |

I took some out on the ice the other day and did great. Nathan |
I wanted to thank you AGAIN…. For the advice on your 4 inch salt sticks. We fished a Rocky Mountain Team Series Tournament this last weekend (Aug 20th and 21st) and finished in the top 5 again. We used the changeable craw and baby bass to catch solid limits both days, with our two limits weighing a total of almost 17 pounds. Thanks again for your advise, and baits. I AM a believer! Kris |

Hello, I don’t write many reviews, but this cut’r bug lure is just amazing. I fish a 15 acre pond in Northern New Jersey (North Hudson Henry Braddock Park) I’ve hooked into some nice bass before, but when I tied on the black cut”r bug I started catching fish left and right. I don’t know what the fish think it is, but they gobble them up. I guess on a jig head they might think it’s s crawfish. Whatever they think it is all species go for it. Bass, Crappie, gills, and I even got a catfish on one. The 2.5 inch black cut’r bug is now my go to bait. I’m gonna try the 3.5 and see if I can get that state record I know is lurking in my pond. I’ve been so busy catching fish on the cut’r bug I haven't even tried the Minnows I bought. Looks like I’ll be buying a lot of your products from now on. The attached photo is of my best so far this season. Thank you. |
I made my first trip to Navajo Lake on the NM side the last week of May with 2 buddies. We tried various lures as this was our first trip. The "go to lure" became the 3" Maniac Minnow In Changeable Craw by the last day. Not only it catch big bass, but I also landed two nice Northern Pike on light tackle. Jack Warner |

Just a note to say that your baits are absolutely incredible for ice fishing. we were fishing last year in some tough conditions and were catching a few fish but with your baits my catch rate climbed and i caught the biggest trout of my life and here are some pics from the trip Jason Teeters |

I bought a couple packages of 4" Salt Sticks to try on a fishing trip that I was taking my 5 yr. old son on. The small lakes we were going to are loaded with small 8 to 12 inch bass with very few fish over 2 pounds. You made a believer out of me, by the end of the day we caught more fish over 2 pounds than I've caught in the 10 years that I have been fishing these little lakes. I can't wait to see what they are going to do to the Smallies at Lake Mead. Thanks, Tye Eastman |

I wanted to write you and thank you for your participation in the Devil Creek Derby and for your free samples. This was my first year participating and also the first time I had seen your Maniac Lures. I had been fishing for a couple of hours and was not having much success. I started looking at the sample pack I had received and decided to try a chartreuse Gizzy Bug on a small jig head that I had. I dropped it in the hole and immediately picked up fish on my flasher coming to check it out, within a minute I had a fish on the ice. I continued to fish and picked up a few more fish. Then I had a fish come in and look but then swim to the bottom and leave. I dropped the Gizzy to the bottom and pounded a couple of times, the fish immediately came back and hit the lure. I got him up and it turned out to be a beautiful 20" rainbow and the winner of the derby. I was ecstatic. Thank you so much, I am very impressed by your product and I am excited to use them in the future. I go ice fishing two to three times a week every week all winter and these lures will be one of my new go to lures in any fishing situation. I am especially excited to try them out on some big perch. I just ordered three packs of Gizzy Bugs and I can't wait for them to get here. Thanks again. Seth Reed |

Hi there, let me tell you about my last fishing trip. My daughter and son-in-law pitch in and had me come from Maine to Colorado, telling me that ice fishing for rainbow trout was great. Upon my arrival, Joe told me where we were going to go fishing, Antro Reservoir. He did his home work looking at bing maps and plotting points of interest on his GPS. He showed me my jiggin stick and the bait we would be using, a Changeable craw Cut'r bug 1.5 inch on a round gighead ( match the hatch Joe said with a smile.) On that day we caught and released more than 40 trout each, rainbow male, females, splake, cutthrout. That is the best trout fishing day I have ever had.... got to get some of those Cut'r bugs lures. -Bob Chamberlain |
Just thought I would let you know that I tried out your Maniac 3" pumkinseed worm (salt & scent free) at Quincy Reservior here in Aurora Co. I finally caught my first Bass at that reservior on that lure. Its great that you are putting out salt & scent free lure that we can use when on restricted water. Attached is a pic of the 3# bass that was caught photographed & release thanks to your lure. Look forward to more to come. I have passed the info along to a fishing message board that finally there is a salt free, scent free "senko" type lure that works. Thanks, |

I was fishing on the southwest side of Willard Sat afternoon when some guy trolling out in front of me caught a wiper. I yelled to him Hey that was mine. He said come get it. Then I asked him what he was using since I was catching anything. He told me chartreuse maniac minnow. All I had was white and he trolled near the shore and gave me a variety of his minnows and some jig heads. Well I want to tell that guy thanks and I will be using Maniacs when ever I can. I have attached a pictre of my sons first catch ever only minutes after using the minnows he gave us. In fact he is in the background in the boat. Thanks Again you made my sons week. Thank you |

| "James, just a quick note to tell you I really like your baits. I used the reapers and the paddle tails to take 7th place at a TBF qualifier this last Saturday. Your baits are definitely something to be proud of. My partner was fishing several different worms and various plastics and only caught 1 fish for 2 days." -- Don Simper | |

In June of 2006, I had the urge to go fish the Payette River in Southwest Idaho in pursuit of some early summer bass. This time of year can be difficult due to unpredictable flows from the runoff, but it generally is starting to subside and access from the bank is more and more available. When I arrived at the Black Canyon Dam, water was spilling over the spillway and the flows were 3 times higher then average. What is normally a nice little calm area below the Dam, now was a turbulent, but fishable river. Not expecting great results, I started off casting lipless crank baits in hopes of catching a smallmouth. After several dozen casts and no action, I decided to go with a slower approach so I put on a 3" Maniac Grub in the (013) Changeable Craw color. I put the grub on a lead headed jig and started making my casts along the shores and into the heart of the river. It wasn't long and I had landed my first smallmouth bass in the 2 lb range, and in short time, I landed several more of the feisty river bass. After the 5th smallmouth, something happened that I never expected from this river. I landed a 3 lb largemouth bass and shortly after, I landed 2 more largemouth in the 2 lb range. I've landed many smallmouth bass out of this spot in the past years, but until this day I've never caught a largemouth here, nor did I even think I would catch one out of this river. After less then 2 hours of fishing this location I landed 9 smallmouth and 3 largemouth all on the 3" Changeable Craw Grub by Maniac Custom Lures. I was pleasantly surprised of the durability that these soft plastic had, but more important I was pleased with the results I had catching fish with them. Since that time I've always made it a point to cast a Maniac Grub first when I'm river fishing for bass. And in more times then I can count, it has always paid off. |

FISHING WITH A MANIAC One of the things I really like about Brad Cutler is that he is always up for trying something new. He constantly has his eyes open for something different - better fishing equipment, a new lure or a more effective technique. So in November, 2006, when he gave me a couple of packages of soft plastics to take down to Lake Powell, I started fishing them right away. As it turned out, I didn't fish anything else the whole trip. My daughter, son-in-law and I caught crappie, stripers, smallmouth, largemouth and even a few catfish, all of us using the lures that Brad gave me. The lure was called a Maniac Minnow, made by a company called Maniac Custom Lures. After Brad had a ball in February on Arizona's Lake Roosevelt catching crappie up to over two pounds on Maniac Minnows, he did a little research on the company. It turns out they are located just outside of Brigham City, Utah. On Friday, March 2, 2007, Brad and I set out to pay them a visit. On the way we stopped to pick up Jim Morkin in Uintah. The owners of Maniac Custom Lures, James and Sheri Bradshaw, are James gave us the 50-cent tour through their operation and patiently answered a lot of questions. The biggest lesson for me was learning all that goes into making these soft plastics. I really had no idea how much work and skill it involved, not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars in equipment. We were all impressed by the quality and care that goes into Maniac's products, right down to the colors and the details in the molds. In addition, we learned that Sheri has another business embroidering logos on hats, shirts and jackets. RMAs always have a need for that, and we'll be looking into it. The product line of Maniac Custom Lures includes Maniac Grubs, Maniac Minnows, Maniac Salt Sticks, Maniac Paddle Tails, Maniac Cut'r Bugs and the Maniac Ice Cut'r, which is designed for ice fishing but looks like it should work well for any kind of panfishing. They have a good selection of colors, and you can order a custom color if you need it. In the Wasatch Front area, Maniac products are available at Fish Tech in the Holladay/Cottonwood area, Sportsman's Warehouse in Midvale, Smith and Edwards in Willard, Anglers Den in Riverdale, and they will have a booth at this year's International Sportsman's Expo March 15 through 18, 2007. You can find Maniac on the web at www.maniaccustomlures.com, or you can call at 435-279-9900. Their website includes a pdf that has instructions on rigging and presentations for Maniac products. Maniac Custom Lures is a great combination of a Utah company and lures that really work! |
